Terms of Service

Version 2026-10-13-draft1 · Last updated October 13, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and [TO FILL: registered company / business name] ("BookADoc", "we"). By creating an account or booking a visit, you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Notice.

1. What BookADoc is, and is not

BookADoc is a booking platform. We help patients find doctors and reserve clinic visit times, and help doctors manage their schedules. We are not a hospital, clinic or medical provider, we do not give medical advice, and we are not part of the doctor–patient relationship. Each doctor is solely responsible for the medical care they provide.

Emergencies: BookADoc is not for emergencies. If you or someone else needs urgent help, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

2. Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old. A parent or legal guardian may book for a minor using their own account.
  • Give accurate information and keep it up to date. One account per person; keep your password secret. You are responsible for activity on your account.
  • A doctor account can also book visits with other doctors as a patient. Patient accounts cannot use doctor features.
  • We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, put others at risk, or are inactive for a long time.

3. Doctors' obligations

  • Hold a valid, current PRC license and any permits required to run your clinic, and tell us right away if your license is suspended, revoked or expires.
  • Upload genuine documents. We review them, but verification by BookADoc is not a guarantee of a doctor's skill or conduct.
  • Keep your clinic details, fee and schedule accurate, and honor confirmed bookings. If you can't, use "Can't make it" as early as possible to offer new times or cancel.
  • Use patient information only to provide care and manage bookings, and protect it as a personal information controller under the Data Privacy Act. Tell walk-in patients you enter into BookADoc that their name and number will be used for booking SMS.
  • See online bookings before walk-ins, and tell walk-in patients that walk-ins are free, seen last and not guaranteed to be seen. Do not charge walk-in patients a BookADoc booking fee.
  • Repeated cancellations, no-shows or false information may lead to removal from search or account closure.

4. Booking fee

  • Online bookings carry a platform booking fee of ₱10.00, paid through PayMongo when you book. It is separate from the doctor's consultation fee, which you pay the clinic directly. Walk-in bookings made by a clinic have no booking fee.
  • Walk-ins vs online bookings. Walking in at the clinic is free (no booking fee and no card fee). Walk-ins are seen last, after all online bookings, in the order they arrive, and are not guaranteed to be seen; the clinic may be unable to accommodate a walk-in. Booking online for ₱10.00 reserves your priority slot. BookADoc does not handle emergencies. For emergencies, call 911 first or go to the nearest ER.
  • Card processing fee. If you pay by credit or debit card, a card processing fee is added on top of the booking fee and shown as a separate line before you pay (currently 3.5% + ₱15.00, about ₱15.91 on a ₱10.00 booking fee). There is no extra fee for GCash, Maya or QR Ph. When we refund a booking in full (for example, the doctor cancels), we also refund the card processing fee. [TO FILL: lawyer to confirm surcharge wording and compliance with BSP / card network rules.]
  • A slot is held for 2 hours while you pay. If payment isn't completed, the hold expires.
  • Refunds and cancellation fees follow our Booking Fee Refund Policy: 24+ hours before: ₱10 cash back, or ₱12 credit. Under 24 hours: ₱5 cash back, or ₱10 credit. No-show: no refund. If the doctor or clinic cancels, misses the appointment, or reschedules and you decline the new time, you get a full refund. Charges made in error or twice, and failed bookings, are always refunded in cash. Refunds come as booking credit by default; you can switch to cash within 7 days. The tiers shown when you book are the ones that apply to that booking.
  • Cash refunds go back to your original payment method through PayMongo and usually arrive within 5 to 10 business days. We may change the fee in the future; the fee shown when you book is the one that applies.

5. Cancellations and no-shows

  • Patients can cancel up to 2 hours before the visit from My bookings. Cancelling 24 hours or more before gets a full refund; later, a smaller refund applies (see below) and the rest is kept as a cancellation fee. Rescheduling 24 hours or more before carries the fee over to the new time. See the Refund Policy.
  • If you don't show up, the doctor can mark the visit as a no-show. No-shows and late cancellations lower your reliability rating, which doctors can see. Walk-ins who are not seen or are turned away because the clinic could not accommodate them are not penalized.
  • Doctors who can't make a visit must use "Can't make it"; you can then accept a new time, pick another open time, or cancel for a full refund.

6. Ratings, reviews and content

  • After a visit, patients may rate doctors and doctors may rate patients. Be honest, fair and respectful, and only rate visits that actually happened.
  • Do not post: medical details about other people, personal contact information, offensive, discriminatory or threatening content, false statements, advertising, or anything illegal.
  • You keep ownership of what you write, but you allow us to display it on BookADoc. We may hide or remove content that breaks these rules and may suspend repeat offenders. Hidden comments still count in the star average unless removed for abuse. To report content, contact us below.

7. Featured listings

Some doctors may appear as Featured on the home page and at the top of Find a doctor results. At present no one pays for this placement; it is granted by BookADoc. It is always labelled “Featured” and is not a recommendation or a statement about quality.

How a doctor becomes Featured:

  • Only a BookADoc administrator can turn it on, for a doctor whose PRC licence and documents we have already verified. Doctors can't turn it on themselves.
  • Each placement has a start date and an end date (Philippine time) and ends automatically on the end date. An administrator can extend or remove it at any time.
  • Among Featured doctors, the administrator sets the order with a priority number; ties go by start date, then name.
  • A doctor who reviews our health content as a physician reviewer can never be Featured.
  • Featured placement never affects the “Help me choose a doctor” guide, where doctors are listed A–Z by name.

All other Find a doctor results are listed A–Z by name.

8. Prohibited use

Do not: create fake accounts or bookings; impersonate a doctor or anyone else; book slots you don't intend to use or hoard slots; scrape, copy or resell listings; try to break, overload or get around the security of the site; use the service to send spam; or use it for anything illegal.

9. Limits of our liability

  • We provide BookADoc "as is". We work to keep it running and accurate, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free.
  • We are not responsible for the medical advice, diagnosis, treatment or conduct of doctors, or for what happens at the clinic.
  • HMO and insurance partners on a doctor's profile are listed by the doctor and not checked by BookADoc. Always confirm your coverage with your HMO or insurer and the clinic before your visit.
  • To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim about the service is limited to the booking fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Philippine law, including the Consumer Act (RA 7394), or for our fraud or gross negligence.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version and date are shown at the top. For significant changes we will notify you before they take effect; continuing to use BookADoc after that means you accept them.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any issue. Otherwise, disputes will be brought before the proper courts of [TO FILL: venue city, e.g. Cebu City or Makati City], without affecting your rights as a consumer to go to the DTI or other government agencies.
